AIM OF THE PROJECT
Is a project aiming to create equal opportunities for the developement of disadvantaged local and migrant children and youth in the Gaziantep region.
The project relies on non-formal education-based activities and events in order to contribute to their intercultural learning. By spending time with volunteers coming from different countries, kids improve their abilities to communicate and understand different habits as well as widening their point of view.
CONTRIBUTION OF VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers lead group playing activities for the youngsters to help them develop a sense of self confidence and trust in their peers. Debate clubs, cineforum events and focus groups for young people aged 15 to 30 are carried out in order to enhance their critical thinking skills and help them prepare for the challenges of the social integration.
OUTPUTS OF THE PROJECT
Through debate clubs participants improve their language skills and develop culture and social cohesion and cohabitation by using their chritical thinking abilities. Moreover, volunteers run weekley meetings in schools, associations and universities to inform young people in Gaziantep about the EU opportunities for lifelong learning through non formal workshop and intercultural activities. The project contributes to the awareness and recognition of volunteer-based studies throughout Turkey and Europe, and to the dissemination of good practice examples.
