AIM OF THE PROJECT
The project constists of volunteering activities and online dissemination of their results in order to raise awareness about the ecological changes we are experiencing and how the environment is affected by them. This project focuses on raising awareness about environmental problems at local, national and international level by helping young people reducing their footprint.
CONTRIBUTION OF VOLUNTEERS
During their ESC, Volunteers live in Gaziantep reling on natural resurces reducing waste to a minimum and sharing their own tips and techniques to reuse and create clothes, tools and food.
IMPLEMENTATION
Volunteers organise daily workshops and work cafes for the population of Gaziantep in a mutual exchange of good practices. The workshops, held by both locals and volunteers, focus on different topics every day such as recycling, crafting and gardening and involve specific target groups.
Some of them are filmed and shared on Geged’s social medias to reach a broader audience.
In the work cafes young people are brought togheter to discuss about environmental problems and identify actions that can be carried out at a local level.
OUTPUTS OF THE PROJECT
Camping trips directed by experienced volunteers are held so as to teach young people the importance of natural environments and how to preserve and take care of them.
